Publication date: March 2024

Commitment to achieving Net Zero
Michael Streete Foundation is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045 with a 30% reduction by 2034.
Baseline Emissions Footprint

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

Baseline Year: 2023 ( reflecting on 2023 activity January – Dec 2023)
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
This is our first carbon reduction plan so do not have any baseline or historic data. We are an environmentally aware organisation committed to continual reduction in carbon usage through all elements of our operations. We have one small office but many of our staff work remotely  so our footprint considers mainly home emissions and no company vehicles, and we are committed to ongoing elimination of use of paper within our delivery. We specialise in e-learning , digital solutions so have limited direct and indirect emissions as our products are not physically transported.
Baseline year emissions: 2023

  • Business travel – emissions from transportation of employees for business-related activities. Measuring this would require records of trips taken and the mode of transport used for those trips.
  • Employee commuting – emissions from transportation of employees between their homes and their worksites. Measuring this we have analysed commuting trips completed and the mode of transport used.

This is our first year cardon reduction plan. In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to  a reduction of 30% by 2033.

Carbon Reduction Projects

Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives

The following environmental management measures and projects are being planned over the next 5 years. The carbon emission reduction achieved by these schemes equate to a 30% reduction over next 10 years and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.

The above reductions have been achieved primarily through managing the energy efficiency of our remote operations as we continue to strive to go paperless and reduce company operations.

We have also taken actions to build net zero capacity within the organisation by:

–  appointing a designate manager,

– All staff complete an Environmental Awareness Course (digital)

– creating a cross- business working group and by implementing a capacity building and education awareness for staff.

Soon (and in time for our 2033 reduction target of 30%) we will implement further measures such as:

  • Continued energy efficiency across our offices
  • Switch to renewable energy
  • Reducing waste to landfill through new waste contracts.
  • Reducing emissions from business travel
  • Introduce a new net zero procurement policy.
  • Launch new emission reduction initiatives for all our businesses

Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
