Mindset

When chasing your dreams, mentality plays a crucial role. Two mindsets shape our outlook on life:
The scarcity mindset and an abundance mindset, and understanding these two mindsets and shifting your mentality from negative to positive will impact your journey toward success.

Scarcity Mindset:

The scarcity mindset is the belief that resources and opportunities in the world are limited, and those with this mindset may feel that someone’s gain and success are their loss, which creates a sense of fear, jealousy, constant comparison, and competition. These are often associated with the mindset and obstructing someone’s personal growth.

Abundance Mindset:

An abundance Mindset is someone embracing that there are enough resources and opportunities for everyone. Having this mindset means you understand and recognize that someone else’s achievements and success don’t affect your potential for success. Someone with this mindset will not feel threatened but will celebrate the accomplishments of others. The abundance mindset encourages a more collaborative approach, a different outlook on life, and a sense of fulfilment.

Shifting your mindset:

Reflecting on your mindset is the first step to shifting from a negative to a positive. If you find yourself in a scarcity mindset, here are some strategic ways to change that:

Celebrate others’ success instead of viewing someone else as a competition or a threat.
Focus on your personal growth.
Surround yourself with positive people and other influences.

Shifting from a scarcity to an abundance mindset can have a positive effect when chasing your dreams. Accepting the belief that there is enough for everyone and seeing other achievements as positive can help you unlock your potential for success.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When MSFDN - Michael Streete Foundation receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

From employability, wellbeing and business & enterprise to enrichment and career progression routes, MSFDN offer members an engaging environment designed to foster growth, development and opportunity.
These offerings include:

 

TRAINING & EDUCATION (VOCATIONAL / ACCREDITED): A flexible learning
environment through online, in-person, or hybrid formats, featuring courses, apprenticeships, internships, traineeships, sessions, bootcamps, and retreats.

 

MSFDN INITIATIVES: Members immerse in real world life and career experiences across a range of unique and creative environments, including established ventures like magazine publishing, choirs, dance troupes, and various professional teams, which have been carefully developed to offer structured and enriching opportunities for skill-building, networking, and personal and professional growth. These established ventures serve as dynamic platforms for members to hone their talents, collaborate with peers, and gain valuable insights into their chosen fields.

 

PROGRAMMES: A core activity of the MSFDN Ecosystem, members can engage in Programmes structured to target key areas of personal, professional or creative support such as mentorship, grants, peer-to-peer connecting, networking, business & enterprise, and skill development.

 

SUPPORT SERVICES: To compliment a members life and career journey, MSFDN offer a range of health, wellbeing and welfare personalised assistance through 1:1 sessions, small group settings, or specialised support cohorts.
